New Normal.

It's one of those things people like to say that is meaningless, "this is your new normal." But can you really say that any state of being: mind, body, spirit is...normal? Beyond which, doesn't the fact that we're experiencing a "new" normal imply the abnormality of the past? More commonly this detestable phrase is used as tongue-in-cheek, patronizing recognition of the fact the what is happening here is NOT normal.

So I reject this descriptor.

One of the definitions of normal is "conforming to a type, standard or regular pattern." Another is "free from mental disorder. SANE."

Let's first take a stab at the exhortation to regularity. Well most Nice Girls have been regular, and their inability to vary their behavior according to their treatment is what got them in trouble with a Not-So-Nice. Not liking the normal there.

Next, "conforming." Well that's pretty much the antithesis to growth, so again, no thank you.

And we all know I'm not sane.

But do you know who is depressing regular, conforming and utterly grotesque? Not-So-Nice's.  I had the misfortune of having been the recipient of this book http://www.amazon.com/The-Script-Absolutely-Predictable-Things/dp/1401302289 and it is chilling.

Now this book will not win any literary awards, but the content is compelling enough to move past the writing style (unlike Three Cups of Tea...a horrifically written book about an amazing subject).

Or, if you lack the time or inclination to vomit, enjoy this summary (warning: keep your Pepto handy).  http://www.sonderbooks.com/Nonfiction/script.html

I'm not normal, and I like it that way.
